Maintenance for Systems We Install and Take Over
Looking after security systems is an established part of our work, not an afterthought once an installation is finished. We maintain the systems we install and many suitable systems installed by other companies.
Equipment changes over time. Camera views become obstructed, batteries age, door hardware wears with daily use and fire alarm systems need regular servicing. Planned maintenance finds these issues early and keeps each system working as it should.
- Scheduled maintenance visits
- Fault finding and breakdown call-outs
- Takeover of suitable existing systems
- Advice on repairs and upgrades
- CCTV, alarms, access control, door entry and fire alarms

MAINTENANCE PLAN
The Silver Maintenance Plan
A straightforward 12-month plan that keeps your system on a regular service schedule, with a breakdown call-out included.
What’s included
- 12 months’ maintenance cover
- Scheduled maintenance visits appropriate to the system: one a year for CCTV and intruder alarms, two a year for fire alarms
- One breakdown call-out included
What the plan doesn’t cover
- Parts aren’t included in the plan. Any replacement parts are charged separately.
- Further attendance after the included breakdown call-out is chargeable.
- Broadband, router and network changes aren’t covered unless the network was installed or configured by us as part of the system.
- The Silver Maintenance Plan runs for 12 months. We require 45 days’ notice if you do not wish to renew.

Anything that needs attention is reported to you, with the recommended next step explained before further work is carried out.
FAULTS & BREAKDOWNS
Faults and Breakdown Call-outs
With the Silver plan
One breakdown call-out is included in your 12 months. Further attendance after that is chargeable, and parts are charged separately.
Without a maintenance contract
You don’t need a maintenance agreement to call us. Attendance and repair costs are chargeable and confirmed as appropriate.
We don’t publish fixed call-out prices because the cost depends on the work required and the location. When you call, tell us the system, the symptoms and any recent changes, and we’ll arrange the next step.
EXISTING SYSTEMS
Taking Over an Existing System
If your CCTV, alarm, access control or door entry system was installed by another company, we can assess whether it’s suitable for us to maintain.
Not every system can be taken over as it stands. Older, unsupported, poorly installed or obsolete equipment may need remedial work or replacement first. We’ll explain what we find and the practical options.
What we look at
- The equipment, its age and condition
- How the system was installed
- Access to engineer codes, passwords and settings
- Availability of compatible parts
- Any existing faults
OLDER SYSTEMS
Older Systems: Repair or Upgrade?
Maintenance isn’t about keeping old equipment going indefinitely. When a system ages, there are three sensible routes, and we’ll help you choose between them.
Maintain
Where the equipment is sound, regular servicing keeps it working reliably.
Repair
Faulty components can be repaired or replaced where parts are available and the cost makes sense.
Upgrade
Where equipment is obsolete, unreliable or uneconomical to repair, we can discuss upgrading parts of the system or replacing it.
REMOTE VIEWING
IT, Networks and Remote Viewing
Remote viewing and app access rely on your broadband, router and network. Broadband, routers, customer networks and IT systems are the customer’s responsibility, unless the network or configuration was installed by us as part of the security installation.
Changes made by a broadband provider or IT company can stop remote access working without any fault in the security system itself, so they aren’t automatically maintenance faults. Where we can help, we’re happy to, but this work isn’t automatically included in maintenance cover.
Common causes of lost remote access
- A new broadband provider or router
- Changed Wi-Fi or network settings
- Firewall or IT system changes
- Network changes made by a third-party IT provider

YOUR QUESTIONS
Maintenance Questions
Straightforward answers to the questions we are asked most often.
Can you maintain a system you didn’t install?
Often, yes. We’ll assess the system first. Some older, unsupported or poorly installed systems need remedial work or replacement before we can maintain them.
Do I have to take a maintenance contract?
No. Maintenance cover is optional. You can still call us without a contract, and attendance and any repairs are chargeable.
How often will my CCTV be serviced?
With a maintenance plan, CCTV systems have one scheduled maintenance visit a year.
How often will my alarm be serviced?
With a maintenance plan, intruder alarms have one scheduled maintenance visit a year.
How often will my fire alarm be serviced?
With a maintenance plan, fire alarms have two scheduled maintenance visits a year.
What is included with the Silver plan?
Twelve months of cover, scheduled maintenance visits appropriate to your system and one breakdown call-out. The Silver Maintenance Plan runs for 12 months. We require 45 days’ notice if you do not wish to renew.
Are parts included?
No. Parts aren’t included in the Silver plan and are charged separately.
What happens after I’ve used my included breakdown call-out?
Further attendance during the plan is chargeable. Your scheduled maintenance visits continue as normal.
Can you attend if I don’t have a maintenance contract?
Yes. We can attend systems without a maintenance contract, with chargeable attendance and repair costs confirmed as appropriate.
What happens if my equipment is obsolete?
We’ll explain the options. That may mean repairing what can be repaired, upgrading parts of the system or replacing it where that’s more sensible.
Are broadband or router problems covered?
Not usually. Broadband, routers and customer networks are the customer’s responsibility unless we installed or configured the network as part of the system. We may be able to help, but this isn’t automatically included.
Can you maintain several security systems?
Yes. We can look after CCTV, intruder alarms, access control, door entry and fire alarms at the same property or across several sites.
